Couldn’t be happier with the purchase.

Here are some facts:

1. This unit replaced a Badger-1 disposal which had come with our house when we bought it new in 2004. I didn’t even know what type we had until I took it out. We had been happy with the Badger but it eventually stopped working. Doing some research after-the-fact, I learn the Badger-1 only has a 1/3 hp motor and 1 year warranty. The Waste King L-8000 has a full 1 hp motor and a lifetime (non-transferable) warranty.

2. Though the Badger-1 only had 1/3 of the power of the L-8000, the Waste King was actually quieter. We didn’t think either of them was loud, but the Waste King was even quieter.

3. There are basically two types of disposal mounts nowadays. If you have an existing disposal, the odds are nearly 100% that it’s installed utilizing either a 3-bolt mount system or the EZ mount system. If you are planning to replace a disposal that required a 3-bolt mount system (such as the Badger-1) with a disposal that requires the EZ mount system (such as the Waste King) you will also need to purchase the following adapter kit: Anaheim Mfg Co 3 Bolt Mount Adapter Kit 3101.

* The above adapter kit is sold here on Amazon for less than $10 and is very easy to install. All you do is swap out two pieces that came with your EZ mount disposal with the two pieces in the kit. You will then be able to connect your new EZ mount disposal to a sink that contains 3-bolt mount hardware. On a scale of 1-10, I would say that the difficulty factor was a 1 or 2. Easy! Additionally, Anaheim Mfg Co (the company that makes the adapter kit) is the same company that manufactures Waste King disposals. So, everything fit perfectly and effortlessly.

4. I had never done any plumbing but I was able to do this myself. Total time was around 2 hours… but I took my time and also (as the instructions recommended) took time to disassemble most of the plastic plumbing from underneath the sink and cleaned them out real well. I was surprised how much gunk had accumulated.

5. The instructions list nine items or tools it thinks you might need to get the job done… but you will likely need much less. I only needed two tools myself: a screwdriver and a hacksaw. The screwdriver was used to tighten the three screws of the 3-bolt mount system while the hacksaw was used to slightly shorten a couple plastic pieces (the horizontal sink pipe leading from main sink line to disposal & the discharge elbow coming off the disposal).

6. Another concern I had was whether the different lengths of the Badger disposal versus my Waste King disposal might cause plumbing alignment problems when I tried to put everything back together. It was not an issue. I’m now guessing the actual plumbing location within the different brands of disposals are standard. In other words, if one disposal is 16 inches deep while the other is 20 deep inches deep, both would have plumbing entering the disposal at 9 inches down from the top.

7. I bought this unit after seeing Consumer Reports (Aug 2009 issue) rate it highest out of six disposals they tested. They also showed the price as $230, so seeing it on Amazon for much less and reading all the positive reviews made it a no brainer.

Quiet and fast. Has stopper that really works. Small bin makes accidents less likely, and I have not dropped any tableware in yet.

One thing that you must do. Before turning the lock ring in the final step of installation, don’t forget to soap up the rubber gasket. If you don’t, you will be sorry. It is not an option as implied by the instructions.

I have been using this product for almost 6 months now and it is great. After installation, I have taken its flawless performance for granted. It was substantially larger than the small wimpy disposal that came with our house, but also surprisingly quieter; more like the guttural growl of a menacing bulldog than a loud but harmless chihuahua.

A couple of pieces of advice – make sure it will fit under your sink (it barely fit under mine), and create an outlet to plug it into instead of trying to directly wire it since it comes with a plug you would have to otherwise cut out.

I also purchased based on the Consumer Reports rating as well as reviews posted here. I feel I saved 50% over a comparable disposal at a big box store. Mine was shipped from Cantex. I was nervous based on the previous reviewer, but all parts were present and the disposal works very well. I had it professionally installed (was getting new countertops, new sink, new faucet). When I first turned it on, it sounded louder than I expected. The plumber said to put a little dishwashing detergent in and it would lubricate the blade. Wow, made a huge difference in the noise level. He said to do that weekly and it will also keep odors down. So far I’m very pleased.

The sink ring is a slightly cheap looking stainless, but other than that, it’s a high quality disposal. Got the 1hp version for the lifetime warranty, but I’ll probably never need to use it.

I bought this to replace 20 year old ISE disposer which lost both of its blades and was pretty much useless.

Installation was almost plug-and-play except for the sink flange piece. I had to remove old one (couple of minutes), clean some old plumber’s putty and make sure contact surface is clean before I put the new one on. Since I have stainless steel sink, the supplied rubber gasket was just fine to use alone. The outlet orientation and dishwasher inlet were in exact same spot as the previous disposer so I didn’t have to mock around with that – perfect compatibility.

Last was electrical hook up. The disposer comes with around 2-3 feet of cable with standard 3 prong plug on one end… I had to cut it off and make electrical connection to old cable. Manual covers that and tells exactly which prong should be hooked up to which color of wire on the other cable. Similarly to plumber’s putty, there were no wire caps included with the disposer.

At this point I was finished so I decided to test the efficiency of this disposer… I took all the bits and pieces of food (nut shells, carrots, etc, stuff that old broken disposer could not chew), almost full chamber of it and stuffed it into the new disposer… It chewed thru all of it in about 10s, truly amazing. No wonder since this disposer spins at 2600 rpms which is something like 2x as fast than usual disposer in its class. It is also VERY quiet. When operating in normal fashion (not full chamber of hard stuff at once), you won’t even notice much more noise when throwing stuff inside since the food gets chewed into little pieces immediately and has no time to bounce around the chamber generating noise and vibrations for sink to amplify.

The disposer comes with removable splash guard that sits about 2 inches below sink line inside of the flange. It also comes with sink plug, you insert it inside the flange. It is a very effective plug too.

I think this is the best bang for the bucks these days since for one, it is all stainless steel blades and chamber walls secondly it comes with 5 year in home warranty and life time rust warranty.

For comparison, I went to Lowes/HD and what did I find for this price? The cheapest they had was ISE Badger 1 which was actually $76 + tax. That one is noisy as hell, has galvanized steel parts (will rust in couple of years) and very short warranty…

Like several of the other reviewers, I purchased this to replace a Badger 5. I found the Waste King product impressive on a number of areas. The warranty is five years and it includes in-home service, which is a rarity nowadays. Some of the larger Waste King models (1 Hp) have a lifetime in-home warranty. I looked at them, but decided to go with the ½ HP version since I only use the disposal for plate scrapings (bones go in the trash and vegetable peelings go into the compost pile) and didn’t want to buy way more disposal than I needed.

Waste King offers two mounting options – the traditional three bolt method, and the EZ method. This model is the EZ method and, true to its name, is really easy! Very clear instructions come with the unit, plus there are videos on the Waste King site to walk you through the process. If you have even the most basic of tool skills and can follow instructions, this is a job you can handle.

The other feature I liked about the EZ mount option was that the rubber guard (the piece of rubber at the top of the opening that you push scraps through) is removable for cleaning. It is not removable in the 3 bolt mounting option and, considering how horrible the one looked in my Badger after a few years, I wanted something that I could take out and clean (or replace). But, all the parts in the 3 bolt option are stainless steel, whereas there are plastic parts in the EZ mount option. The plastic seems sturdy enough, so I hope it will last a long time.

I’m especially pleased to report that Waste King has outstanding customer service. I emailed them some questions before I ordered, and they replied in a few hours, and answered all my questions in full (versus just those canned boilerplate responses you sometimes get from companies). After it arrived I had a question regarding if the sink flange (the part you see when you look into the sink) was plastic or stainless. So I called them and got an answer very quickly (it is stainless). Very pleasant phone call, and minimal (3 or 4 min) hold time.

Product works great. It runs faster (higher RPM) than the Badger, so it grinds quicker. Not as ultra quiet as the really high end ones, but less noise than the Badger. It has stainless cutters which should outlast the galvanized ones in the Badger by a long time.

Works well, easy to install, great warranty, excellent customer support, great price. What more could you want!

After a lot of research I settled on the Waste King disposer. It was very easy to install and came packaged with all the necessary accessories for either a twist and lock installation or through the use of a bolt on system. The only thing extra that I needed to do was install an electrical outlet since my old disposal unit was hard wired. I have been using it now for just over a month and it works great.

I purchased this garbage disposal as a gold-box deal. I had been shopping around and comparing prices, but had already picked the Waste King brand because of their great reviews and Consumer Reports recommendation. My previous garbage disposal was 1/3 horsepower and did not work at all. I was unsure of what motor speed I needed for my new model so when it came up on GB for a great price, I jumped at it. And I am so happy with the purchase.

It is my opinion that I would like too much power than not enough power and this was a good choice for my household. In my household, it is me and my husband and we do not put a lot down the disposal but do have remnants from dinner and the occasional potato or apple peels. This handles all our food without any problems. It is relatively quiet (for a garbage disposal), and was easy to install.

I am very happy with this product!

This is the second garbage disposal I have had to replace (in two houses) in the last ten years. The originally-installed disposals, as well as the first replacement model I purchased, were noisemakers, to be run only when you don’t need to hear the TV sound in the next room. They also were not particularly effective, as I still got plugged drains from coarsely-ground food scraps. The Waste King L-3300 is much quieter and really pulverizes those scraps. Plus, the installation was much easier than the three-screw mounting system that seems to be the norm for other models. Make no mistake, this is a heavy unit and it is non-trivial to hold it up to the mounting flange while you twist the mounting collar to complete the installation, but it only takes a few minutes for that step, and a burly helpful neighbor or husband will suffice. That, or (hint) use your car’s tire jack (scissor type) to hoist the unit into place while you tighten the ring.

Just purchased this to replace our old disposal that burnt out after 8 years. Read reviews, went to Lowes….this was by far a better bargain than those in stores! Also, it is much quieter than our old one. My husband installed it in about 30 minutes, no plumbers putty needed even! Believe me, anyone can install this as a replacement if my hubby can…he is bad at changing light bulbs even! I have yet to put onion or potato peels down it, but as far as I can tell, it runs soooooo smooth and quiet our friends thought our disposal was still broken when it was on because it was so quiet!

I am happy with the product. I was extremely happy with the customer service I got from Anaheim Manufacturing,the maker of Waste King ( [...] )when I had a small installation problem.

When installing the “cushion mount” it is extremely important that it be installed in the lowest possible position “the plastic of the “sink flange” should not be visible. Disposer is impossible to attach if wrong, a breeze if it is positioned properly. This is not clear in the instructions.

If used as a replacement disposer, be aware that the plumbing outlet may be at a different height than the original. I was lucky to have the parts available to make the change.

The outlet center on the 1001 model is approx. 6 1/2 inches below the sink bottom.

This disposer has no allen wrench fitting on the bottom to help fix jams, a wooden spoon is recommended.

I bought this as a replacement for my 3/4 HP Kenmore and it is a real champ. It has no difficulty with tough food products (banana peels, rinds, etc.) and was a cinch to install. My only complaint is that the rubber flange in the drain opening is a bit stiff, so I have to push light or wide waste into the disposal, which is a little daunting when it’s running. But this was a bargain and I’m very happy with it.

I purchased this as a direct replacement for my 20+ year old Insinkerator. I went to the Waste King website to find the best replacement. The hardest part was uninstalling the old disposer. The Waste King model I purchased was capable of being hardwired direct into the house as opposed to the plug that it comes with. A few supplies are needed for the conversion but overall the installation was easy and quick. The model comes with a 2 year in home warranty. I’m very pleased with this purchase and recommend it.

I didn’t think that I would ever be writing a review about a garbage disposal, but I didn’t think that there was a difference worth noting. I mean it is a garbage disposal, right?

Well, I am pleasantly surprised! I have always used Insinkerators, thinking they were the best. I found this on Amazon, at this wonderful price, looking to replace a 4 year old Badger 5. It worked. For a while, before the stupid plastic housing cracked. I epoxied it, and got another 8 months out of it, and then it just fell apart. 3 Year warranty, of course. I looked at some of the Waste King reviews, and thought I would try one myself. What a powerful and quiet disposal! Tons of power, fast speed, well built, and did I mention quiet? Easy installation. Only thing that was a little disappointing, is that the installation requires plumbers putty, and including a small tube would have been really handy. I had to stop in the middle of the install and run down to Wallyworld to get some. Other than that, wonderful product, with an 8 YEAR in house warranty… Just to test it, I ran some old steak gristle, dinner scraps, and some left over popcorn seeds, that sneaked in from a popcorn bowl in the stack.. Flipped it on, and it made such short work of the seeds and hard gristle, that I had to look in the flapper to make sure that it was actually gone… Amazing, and it never even slowed down.. I have some high hopes for this one, as I am tired of changing out disposals every 2-3 years. I would not hesitate to recommend Waste King. And, Buy Plumbing ships fast! I had it two days later, and at $153 dollars off the list price. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Purchased the Waste King 9940 3/4 HP. Only had it for a few weeks but seems to work great. The drain hasn’t clogged as with the last disposal of a different brand. Installed quite easy and is pretty quiet. I was going to order the L-8000 1 HP but when I went to order it the price jumped 50% so I opted for the 9940. The 3/4 HP seems to be just fine for household sinks. Never heard of Waste King until I went to Amazon but did some checking and it is rated high by Consumer Reports. If you believe everything they say. My other disposal last 3 years so I am hoping to get more out of this one. I’m pretty sure this one has a 7 year warantee so we’ll see. Would recommend.

I tried this unit because someone I know said they had good luck with Waste King Disposal installed in the home they bought. I had previously searched to internet because I had never heard of Waste King and found several plumbing supplier/wholesalers stock Waste King disposals from the basic units, mid-line to Top of the line.

My builder installed disposer died and I was looking for a sound insulated unit at a bargain price. I’m a single parent so have to watch my expenses, so I tried Waste King a try…Boy am I Happy!!

The subcontractor who installed the sink didn’t do it right (no plumbers putty or caulking), so had to replace the sink, faucet and disposal. I did all the work my self including sanding, sealing/priming, and painting to fix the water stains in the cabinet (my children helped with the sanding and painting.) The entire job, including painting, took a day and a half, but the disposer only took about 15 minutes. I did need a new down pipe, just a couple of bucks, from the drain to the Tee.

When it was first turned on the disposer took a couple of tries to “settle in”, but has been running quietly since, especially when grinding food!!

Now I have a quiet dishwasher and disposal, no more yelling when either is on!

We had an 1/3 hp insinkerator badger and the grinding chamber actually cracked and split. So, off to shopping–came across this unit and wanted to try a different company’s machine. The price was right for the size of the unit. I took this out of the box, reviewed the install and completed the project in less than 45 minutes. The unit looks great and fit perfectly where the badger was. Of interest, the 9980 comes with a 90 degree elbow out of the side of the machine to hook to the waste line. On a double sink, this wouldn’t work. So I used the tail from the badger which was a straight pipe and discarded the elbow. The unit then fit right into place–picture perfect. It seems to me on the height and hookup, the measurements were exact to that of the insinkerator badger. So the hardest part of the install was removing the old unit which was seemingly extremely tight in place–that took the majority of the time. Of other interest, when you go to fit the collar to the unit, make sure you use soft soap as it suggests–the unit popped right into place with no struggle. Also, the instruction says on a stainless sink to not use plumber’s putty but to use the rubber gasket–did and no leaks.

I purchased this Waste King 1/3 HP disposer a month ago from Amazon. Within a week I received the item after online order. The installation was easy, saved me a lot of time than my old In-Sink-Erator. The disposer has worked pretty well so far. I am happy with the purchase. The size is slightly smaller than I expected, but good for a small family.

I have been happy with this disposal. It is very safe since it is only operates with the drain cover securely covering the throat of the disposal. There is no risk for fingers to get caught unawares or for shards of food (such as bones) to unexpectently fly out. It is quiet, powerful and I have not had difficulty correctly positioning the cover to activate the switch.

After going through three 3/4 HP Insinkerators in 10 years, I’d had it with that brand. Having recently switched to Waste King, I can say that the 1 HP model is quiet and powerful. The difference between 3/4 HP and 1 HP is huge. The accompanying manual says that you can put corn cobs in the Waste King–they don’t recommend it since they take a very long time to grind, but, trust me, it would be disposal suicide to try corn cob disposal in an Insinkerator. As an experiment, I did put a corn cob into the Waste King, and it did grind it down (took about 5 minutes). To me, this is impressive.

I don’t know how long the Waste King will last, but the unit seems to be much sturdier and stronger than the Insinkerator (I’m speaking of the 3/4 HP Insinkerator that Home Depot carries).

Pros:

Easy to install and the instructions were reasonably clear.

Powerful, quiet, hasn’t jammed once in the 3 months I’ve had it.

Larger opening than the equivalent Insinkerator models, making it easier to fish out spoons, etc. that always seem to end up in the disposal.

Cons:

The cap that makes the disposal run is entirely plastic. I’d prefer a sturdier one with some metal in it.

To those who say it’s hard to position the cap, it’s pretty much the same as the Insinkerator and any other batch model. Once you figure out the o’clock position, you’ll be fine.

This was part of a kitchen renovation. We have been happy with this disposal. It only operates with the drain cover securely covering the drain/disposal. There is no risk for fingers to get caught. It is quiet, powerful and no difficulty correctly positioning the cover to activate the switch after the first try.

I think a batch feed is a must if you have kids. This model operates very quiet, and has great power. The cons: It takes some time to place the activator in the correct position to turn the unit on. They need to improve on this. You don’t want it to be so easy that a kid could activate it by pushing on a switch in the disposal, yet it shouldn’t be so difficult that it takes more than 30 seconds.

I have never used any other manufacturer’s batch models, this one may be superior to others in terms of activation.

I don’t know how a buyer could test the on/off of various batch models, certainly not buying online.

On thing for sure, if you want the safest garbage disposal on the market with superior features this is it. Even an adult can take a minute or more, depending on previous experience to turn it on.

I replaced a Sink Master 1/3 HP disposer with a Waste King Legend 1/2 HP 9930. Sink Master is made by Waste King and is the cheaper model. The Sink Master had a galvinized grinding chamber which rusted out completely after 20 years but the motor still ran fine. The new Waste King has a stainless steel chamber and I expect a good 20 years or more from this unit. The direct current motor is a major advantage over other disposers. It has a higher starting and low speed torque than induction motors of the same horsepower making it virtualy stall and jam proof. Even my old 1/3 HP Sink Master didn’t jam and the seals never leaked.

Where has this vacuum been all my life?!?. After reading all of the reviews (as I do before buying ANYTHING), I bought this vacuum, and I’m so glad I did!! I will ditto everything good that has been said about it and add:

I mainly got this vacuum for my wood and tile floors. I have 3 animals and need to keep up with the hair at least twice a week. It works really well on the floors, but what I wasn’t expecting was how well it cleans my deep-pile area rug! I’m so glad I don’t have to lug my heavy vacuum downstairs just for the rug anymore! I also use it to remove pet hair from my dining room chairs. It is so handy. I couldn’t be happier!

SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!. Hoover S2220 is extremely handy for the in between weekly cleaning. Great suction, floating head make getting into corners easy. Lightweight and manuverable plus very easy to empty.

Hoover Flair. Fantastic! I wore out my first and am on my second! I use this product everyday. It’s light in weight, not at all cumbersome, yet is powerful and does a great job. So easy to use and a real bargain.

Fills the bill!. This product was much better than expected. Although other reviews were good, for our needs it was even better…almost perfect. Great suction and easy to maneuver and use. We highly recommend it!

very efficient. Hoover S2220 is easy to use, it bends everyway possible, and its very light and small, making it easy to stow away. only problem i have with it is that there isnt a hose attachment for other areas besides the floor

cleaner carpets. Recently purchased Hoover F5914-900 and only used this vaccuum one time, but it worked great ! Look for “Amazon coupon” deals to apply that code as an additional savings.

Great Improvement. I recently ordered your Hoover Steam Vac. I have had two carpet cleaners in the past, one Hoover and one Bissel. Each lasted less than 4 years. I must say this machine is an improvement. The suction is excellent. Also the manufacturer has eliminated the cleaning solution dispenser. It was the first thing in the last two machines that began to leak or malfunction. I found this SteamVac easier to handle and maneuver. The only thing I miss is a handle on the dirty water tank for lifting. I use it on wall to wall carpet, high quality area rugs, and the lesser grade carpeting RV manufacturers put in motorhomes. The last challenge, coming home from a camping trip, was the real test! At this price, if it lasts as long as the others, I will have really gotten my money’s worth.

an ordeal …. I guarantee that after you’ve put yourself through the ordeal of using this once, it will be a long time before you do it again. It is extremely heavy and cumbersome, even before you’ve loaded the tank. Unless you’re accustomed to competitive tractor pulls, you will not find this easy to manuever out of the closet and into position, let alone around the floor. You have to vacuum your rug with a regular vacuum first, then use this cleaner. If there’s a speck of cat hair on the rug when you use this, you will just end up with a film of dirty wet cat hair over the entire rug. I don’t know if all these people who are so thrilled with it are shills for the company, or if they have maids to do all the actual work. I had to take a shower after cleaning my rug; I was reeking with sweat. Also, I would like to point out that there is apparently no way to get customer service on the phone. You will not find anyone to help you straighten out an issue; you just hear a recording of where to take your cleaner for repair. I think I may drag this out and use it again around Christmas.

Great Job. I very satisfied with the purchase of the Hoover F5914-900. Assembly was fairly easy…..about 20 minutes total.

My carpets in the bedrooms are white and became dull over the past two years. I consider calling a carpet cleaner company to do the job. I’m glad I didn’t after using the Hoover SteamVac. If you go slow and do a couple of passes it really does the job

Best Carpet Cleaner I’ve Found. Well, first my neighbor got one, and I borrowed hers when my kids all had the flu. I ended up with some nice clean patches on my carpet and decided I had to have one for myself. I’ve rented do-it-yourself cleaners from the store before, but this Hoover does a much better job and it leaves the carpet remarkably dry. I only gave it four stars because it doesn’t do as well as a professional cleaner coming in and doing your carpet, but it is the best do-it-yourself that I’ve found.

Hover vac. The vac is as good as the previous reviews I had read. It does an ok job on my hardwood floors and and excellent job on the carpet area.

Great vacuum. Bought Hoover U5140-900 to replace my dying Eureka after doing lots of research. It ranked the second highest on Consumer Reports for uprights and was considerably less expensive than the number one pick. So we thought we’d try it. After using it just once I realized how bad my old vacuum was! I love this one and actually enjoy vacuuming with it (which for me is very strange!). My carpets literally look brand new after each use! The best vacuum I have ever used! Buy it!

Loud but excellent. I have been seeing this product in my Consumer’s Report Magazine for the last three years. It is ranked with other vacuums that cost around $300. The only issue was it was only good on noise. They were correct. The suction power is excellent and the allergen filter bags are also very nice to have. It is worth it, especially due to its cheap price!!!

Great Vacuum for the money. I have had many Hoover vacuum cleaners over the years. We currently also have a self-propelled wind tunnel. This tempo has more suction than any vacuum I have ever seen. Great machine for the price.

Good, solid, equipment. Hoover U5140-900 is light-weight, and it has lots of power! Although it’s not self-propelled, it almost seems like it wants to go on its own. It’s very reasonably priced and was recommended by a friend. Thankfully, she saved us significant amounts of money since we were considering a Dyson before we purchased this Hoover. We’re very pleased.

seems good on first impression. i have not yet used this item but first impressions are good…the case seems very sturdy and seems incredibly large…the first thing all my friends said on seeing it when it arrived was “Wow, that thing is huge”…the dimensions are clearly given but the bag really does just seem very big for some reason…very spacious. nice interior with straps to hold your belongings in the base or the lid of the hard sided luggage. and the built in locking system is fantastic…

despite the fact that i haven’t used it yet, with a 10 year manufacturers warranty for any buckles or breaks…i’m really happy with this purchase. the only reason i’m giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because i haven’t put it through the ultimate test of a couple of international flights!!!

A pleasant compromise…. …between a rigid suitcase and a softside nylon suitcase. The plastic is lightweight but seems quite strong. I bought this to use for carrying suits, dress shirts, dress pants, etc.—clothing that tends to be on the more delicate side, which I want to make sure does not get crushed or wrinkled too much as might happen in a duffle bag or softside case. This case is much lighter than a rigid suitcase, and surprisingly a good bit lighter than a softside one too! Mine was a handsome black color, and at just a hundred bucks from my local warehouse club, quite reasonable.

Love how light and easy it is to wheel around, the girl at the hotel who helped me was especially relieved/impressed by its performance!

Don’t know how it will hold up after a few years, but since I usually pack all my harder and heavier items (toiletries, books, shoes, etc.) in a large duffle bag, I am pretty confident that it will be fine.

Nice luaggage but.. . This hard sided luggage is big and super light weight. However the trade-off is the thin sheet of polycarbonate that doesn’t seems to make it last long (at least without dents). Anyway, it come with 10 years (if I remember correctly) warranty so if going to Samsonite service center once in a while is not a problem for you then it is a really good luggage!

A light sturdy bag for a good price.. Pros: This is a well made bag with heavy duty zippers and lots of outside pockets. It is lightweight and easy to manuever. Cons: The telescoping handle on my bag stuck a few times at first and the bag tended to tip forward when the packed bag was unmanned while the handle was fully extended. Overall, an excellent value, would purchase hartmann luggage again.

Balance problem. I’m having trouble balancing this bag when it’s fully packed; it falls backwards and has to be braced or it ends up on the floor. Is there a counterbalance for it? Or do I just have to pack it more lightly?

Excellent quality bag. I love hartmann luggage! It’s lightweight and expandable. The rubber wheels roll quietly. The handle is nice and tall which was a lifesaver since my husband and I are both tall. Consumer Reports rates this little guy as a best buy and I totally agree. The price was excellent and after 4 flights I’m very pleased with the quality of the purchase as well.

I used this rolly along with the Traveling Toddler Car Seat Travel Accessory and the rolly bag hauled a very full load packed in the bag, along with my Evenflo Triumph car seat and my 30 lb toddler strapped around it AND another Delsey carry-on shoulder bag on top. So I’d say that after 4 flights with this load, that the bag performed wonderfully. It still looks brand new and should last a long time.

Our bag broke and Delsey does NOT stand behind their product. We bought this bag for our daughter because it was available in pink and lightweight. After ONE trip through TSA and carrying it on board, one of the back black guards tore half way off. We first called eBags and were told they could do nothing. We then called Delsey and were extremely disappointed. They do not have a repair center in Houston (the 4th largest city in the nation)!!! We would have to incur shipping charges to send it to one of Delsey’s approved repair centers. If we had used the bag for more than one flight – or checked it underneath the aircraft – I might think some expense should be on our end. However, I fully expect a brand new bag to last more than a flight; and if it does not, Delsey should stand behind it. The only thing the customer service rep had to tell me is that many of their customers are frustrated with the lack of repair centers. We will NOT be purchasing any other Delsey bags in the future.

Consumer Reports Best Buy. This item appeared in Consumers Report magazine as a Best Buy for the money. I follow many of the recommendations this magazine has to offer and been very satisfied with the magazines findings. I love hartmann luggage.

Do I need to say more?. I had to call to find out that they didn’t have the items I had pay for… Do I need to say more?

Suitcase does break. As the other reviewer wrote, the suitcase dents easily – in fact after one trip already. Unfortunately, my experience is contrary to the other reviewer in that the suitcase DOES break. After 15 months and about 10 trips, one of wheels is almost torn off. What’s worse is that Samsonite recognizes the problem but only wants to replace the suitcase at a cost, while the newer models clearly have reinforcements in the wheel area demonstrating that this is a design flaw and should be covered by warranty.

I agree with the other reviewer that the “expandable” feature is great and spinners are the way to go. The concept of the suitcase is nice but the material selection is flawed resulting in a huge dissapointment over the Samsonite sahora.

Extremely Useful, Might Dent a Bit. We have this Samonite Sahora for long term trips of a week or more. We got one in bright blue, which makes it easy to spot on luggage carousels. It is a great piece of luggage, but we have found that it dents rather easily.

Samsonite Sahora Brights 28 Spinner We have several Samsonite pieces in our luggage collection. We have a solid hard sider at 29″ and a slightly smaller half soft sided one. This blue Sahora piece falls in the middle. If we’re going on a cruise, for example, we’ll take the 29″ and 28″, one for each of us. It’s a toss up which is better. This one is GREAT with the zip up sides and the expand capability. That means it can shrink down to fit underneath the bed nicely, but can also expand out again when there is a lot of stuff to fit inside it.

I might be a little nervous about the zippers here – the 29″ one has a solid metal edge around the seams. But we’ve never had any issue at all with the zippers failing. There’s nothing to “lock” here – it’s hard to lock zippers – but again, not really a big deal most of the time.

The spinner capability is GREAT. I love, love, love spinners. I’ve kicked this along when my hands were full and it zoomed along quite nicely. You can push it, pull it, turn it in place while you’re in line, and there are no issues at all. All luggage should be spinner luggage.

Definitely get a bright colored one if you can, it makes it so much easier to spot your luggage when you travel and retrieve your bags. Again, the bag does seem to scratch and dent fairly easily, but it doesn’t break. So you get “battle scars” on your luggage that you can boast about, but the things inside stay quite safe. I haven’t had that type of denting on my other bags, but again, there are benefits to this bag like the expanding capability that mean I really don’t worry about the scratches here.

Well recommended.

Good piece of luggage. I have been taking few trips so far. To maneuver the case is the best when the space are limited. It is easy to roll, drag. It is a good piece. I highly recommend the Samsonite cruisair.

Never again. The Samsonite Cruisair was expensive for what it is. After several uses, the plastic latch broke. I called Samsonite – they do not have a replacement part that I can buy. I can, however, drive 50 miles to a repair center. Just say no to Samsonite!

pay a lot – get very little. I purchased this suitcase last year, to replace an older samsonite hardside that i had for many years. it finally fell victim to the many flights and rough handling by baggage handlers, so i decided to get the same type. unfortunately samsonit didn’t make that type any more, so i got the 29″ spinner. it’s very cheesily made. the lock are cheap plastic and broke after a few uses. now i have to use a strap to keep it together. they need a better idea.

TSA. The year is now 2009. Why is anyone making or selling hardside luggage without TSA approved locks? Hello? Hello?
